Sustainable Practices for Environmental Leaders

Why Are We Here—NOW?

I am sure we’ve all asked ourselves this throughout our lives and maybe feel that the answer to that question was never more important than it is today, given all the uncertainty in the world. We may know folks who are suffering from existential angst—the feeling or anxiety that life has no purpose. Yet, if we seek guidance from transformational leaders today, there are inspiring perspectives to consider.

Deb Poneman, an author, trainer and self-development leader, refers to Hindu teachings (Vedas) for insight. The Vedas suggest that everyone is bestowed with unique DNR, talents and guidance that directs their way or their dharma. Living in alignment with their dharma not only fulfills a personal sense of destiny, but also contributes to global equilibrium, ushering in an Age of Enlightenment.

Eckhart Tolle, a visionary, author and spiritual teacher, posits that each individual is a critical agent in manifesting the Universe’s Divine purpose.

Dr. Jean Houston, a United Nations advisor to leaders and nations around the world, states that we are living in the time of an “evolutionary birthing moment” that will lead humanity from an outdated order towards a new era of existence. She suggests that love is key to unlocking new ways of being, contributing to societal transformation and the emergence of a new world order.

Together, these thought leaders weave a tapestry of hope, purpose and transformation.
