Perhaps we can be guided by traditional Indigenous Americans who do not observe a single centralized deity or god. They believe there is a spirit in everything and therefore, there is a god in everything. The eminent anthropologist, Joseph Campbell, in his book, The Power of Myth stated, “All of life was addressed as thou, the trees, the stones, everything. You can address anything as a thou and if you do it, you can feel the change in your own psychology. The ego that sees a “thou” is not the same ego that sees an “it.” #How would you do your work differently if you honored the spirit in everything?
