Stop Struggling with Imposter Syndrome and Believe in Yourself

Even people with successful careers and impressive achievements can struggle with feelings of not being good enough. Imposter syndrome, a psychological pattern, often plagues high achievers who doubt their accomplishments and have a persistent fear of being exposed as a fraud.  In addition, societal pressures to constantly excel and compete with others can lead to a constant feeling of inadequacy. I believe that you were called to the work that you are doing in the environmental field and what you are doing is critical. Is there another way of looking at these feelings of inadequacy? Marianne Williamson, a prolific writer and spiritual leader has a different perspective on why so many of us struggle with this. Here is her view on the subject.

#Have you experienced your own feelings of being an imposter? How do you feel now that you know it could be that you are more powerful than you imagined?

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson

it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God (the god of your understanding)

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other

people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God (the god of your understanding) that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
