BAM! How to Lower Your Anxiety

Anxiety happens when you are looking at the past or anticipating the future and are not in present time. For me, that can result in anxiety. In some cases, it results in an irregular heartbeat, which can be frightening. What I do is the 4x4 or 4x8 breath practice and I do it until my heartrate returns to normal. Start for taking 4 deep cleansing breaths from your belly—breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Take 4 more breaths. Hold for the count of 4. Breath out to the count of 4. If you would prefer, you can breath out for the count of 8. Do this until you no longer feel anxious.
