Yesterday, I attended my high school reunion. Many of my classmates I had not seen since my 25th. I believe that every single person that was there was courageous. They chose to come, showing the trappings of older age but with a hopeful intention to talk with people who mattered to them. Hopefully, time would silence the bad memories and highlight the good ones. For the most part, as Cristen Rogers stated, I discovered most had “dropped every mask and shed every lie” until they revealed “a spark of the divine flame flickering within.” The passage of time has a way of doing that if we can just set our egos aside.
