When I began working, one of the red flags on your resume was if you worked in too many jobs and they did not form a “career path.” My career path was not straight, because I focused upon doing work that inspired me and yes, some people referred to me as a “job hoper,” even though each position lasted at least 3-4 years. The good news is that in today's rapidly evolving job market, the concept of a linear career path is becoming outdated. The importance of pursuing work that one is passionate about cannot be overstated, especially in an era where the average individual is likely to switch careers multiple times. In the next few vlogs, I will describe some lessons I learned from my satisfying and non-linear career journeys.
